Preserve The Magic Of New Parenthood
1 – FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS HELP YOU RELAX
Being at home in your own surroundings makes you feel more relaxed. You know you feel comfortable there and that helps you feel comfortable in front of the camera.
2 – BEING AT HOME HELPS YOUR BABY RELAX
Chances are, your new baby hasn’t had many outings yet. Being at home with familiar smells, sights and sounds helps them to be relaxed and happy. If baby is relaxed then mummy and daddy are more likely to be relaxed.
3 – EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS AT HOME
You have everything you need to hand. If your little one needs a change of clothes or nappy, you have everything you need right there. No need to panic about which clothes to take or if you forget something.
4 – YOUR HOME IS PART OF YOU
One of the most important parts of your story is where you live. The furnishings you chose, your pictures, your baby’s nursery decoration. Capturing you in your natural surroundings helps to tell your story fully.
5 – IT’S HARD TO GET OUT OF THE DOOR WITH A BABY!
Never underestimate the difficulty in leaving the house with a newborn! They always seem to need a change or need feeding just as you’ve finally got everything ready. Having a newborn shoot in your home takes the stress of leaving the house away completely.
6 – YOU DON’T NEED TO POSE
All you need to do is relax while I snap away. We’ll chat and occasionally I’ll pick up my camera to take photos. I’ll suggest moving to different areas of the house if appropriate. It’s amazing to see just home much variety can be captured in one room! It’s all in the details…those little fingers and toes. Those sleepy smiles. Your gentle embrace as you wind them after feeding. The connection between you all as a new family is where the magic lies, no need for cheesy smiles or awkward poses. Just relax in the comfort of your own home while I document your love and devotion quietly and unobtrusively.
7 – NO IMPOSING STUDIO LIGHTS OR BACKDROPS
Being in a studio can feel extremely imposing, large flash softboxes pointing at you can make you feel like a rabbit caught in the headlights. That’s why I use the available natural light during newborn photoshoots.
If you’d like an authentic document of those precious few weeks of new parenthood then a newborn photoshoot in your home is the way to go. No posing, no cheesy smiles or big imposing studio lights. Simply you, your family and your new baby having lots of cuddles in the comfort of your own home.
